Man and Woman are the two parts of a whole. One is Incomplete without the other. The Holy Quraan says, “And we have Created you in Pairs” (Male and Female). The Existance of one without the other would be colourless and boring. The need of the one for the other is so great that it was honoured even in heaven when Eve was created for Adam. Moreover the unioin of the both is necessary for the survival. Besides this need, they are a complete source of joy and comfort for each other. It is said that man is the crown of the Universe but it is Women Who Adorns this Crown with her charms. That is what Milton asserts in Paradise Lost “O fairest of creation! last and best
Of all God’s works”.
Women are the inheret part of society and cannot be neglected due to their less power and authority. They are created as a companion for men and men have to make her walk with them in the course of life.
As woman makes a family, family makes a home and homes makes a society. So, we should never think that a society would come into existence without the contribution of woman. We all know that without education, no development is possible. Here we have forgotten that the very first and best school of a child is its mother’s lap.
Napolean said:
“Give me good mothers and i will give you a good nation”.
The role of Pakistani women in their families revolves around well-established conventions of male supremacy and female sub ordinance. Here the complete responsibility lies on the shoulders of the male to educate and encourage the females to step forward and to play their role in developmental processes. Women are not only for home-making and child-rearing but they must also be given chance to put their hands a little forward in building up of a good solid society. A good solid society is a good harbinger of development.
